Price Competition Among E-Book Readers Devices

Facing competition from Amazon and Barnes & Noble, Sony has slashed the price of the device product line electronic book reader (e-Reader device) it. The move comes after Amazon and Barnes & Noble cut the price of Kindle and Nook, this is the second price cut by Sony this year.
Sony dropped the price for the cheapest model, Reader Pocket Edition, from $ 170 to $ 150, the second price cut after a decline of $ 30 in early April. Touch Reader Edition is now with the price of $ 170, deducted from $ 200, and the Daily Edition 3G Sony Reader price down from $ 350 now becomes $ 300.
Since its launch in April, Apple iPad function as a standalone e-book reader has put the load on the market for specialized devices. As of this writing, for the iPad the cheapest price is $ 499, so that the reader device eBooks another reader feels more expensive when compared with Apple iPad device that has a function more as a computational device.
Barnes & Noble is the first to cut the price of 3G Nook e-reader, from $ 260 to $ 200. Barnes & Noble also introduced, Nook cheap with Wi-Fi feature, costing $ 150. Amazon followed the same thing and cut the price of a standard of $ 260 Kindle to $ 190, on the same day.
Amazon also lowered the price of Kindle DX which has 9.7-inch screen (same screen size as iPad), from $ 490 to $ 380, while Kobo device, do not get the discounted price and still sell it for $ 150, but offers customers Borders $ 20 discounted price. Other eBook reader device that is cheaper than Libre Kobo is packed only with the price $ 120 only.
